Diachronica is an etymology reference app by Luke Steuber. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version: Diachronica does not collect personal data, has no account, and does not track you.
Nothing about you. The app has no sign-in, no analytics or advertising SDKs, no device fingerprinting, and no third-party trackers. It does not access your contacts, photos, location, or microphone.
When you look up a word, the app sends only that word to the Diachronica service at diachronica.com to retrieve its etymology, and shows you the result. The word you searched is used only to answer that request. Parsed etymology content may be cached by word so later lookups can reuse the same reference data, but it is not tied to your identity or used to build a profile of you. Application request logs do not retain the word you searched. As with any website, brief infrastructure logs may record an IP address, timestamp, route, and response status to keep the service running and secure; these are not used to track or advertise to you.
We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties for advertising. There is no advertising in the app.
Diachronica is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
